From: Family DeOrnellas Sent: Sunday, February 22, 2004 8:39 PM Subject: Fairfax Frogs Swimming - Summer 04 Just a quick note to let all swimmers know that the team has been placed in DIVISION 8 for the coming season - Summer 04. Congratulations to everyone for their hard work last summer (we were in Division 9 last summer!). Our schedule for Saturday A meets is as follows. June 19th -practice meet at Kings Ridge June 26th - Fairfax VS Hayfield Farms at FAIRFAX (Home) July 3rd - Fairfax vs Mantua at Mantua (Away) July 10th - Fairfax vs FairOaks at FairOaks (Away) July 17th - Fairfax vs Commonwealth at Commonwealth (Away) July 24th - Fairfax vs Mt. Vernon Park at FAIRFAX (Home) The Wednesday evening Divisional Relay Carnival is July 14th at Hayfield Farms Divisionals is July 31st at Mantua All Stars is August 7th at Waynewood **As you can see, except for the Divisional Relay Carnival - FAIRFAX is going to have a NO COMMUTE season. Please mark these dates down - Fairfax is only hosting 2 home A meets. (This will make our pool community happy!) Carole Rogers and Cathy Basl will be looking for parent volunteers for these two Saturdays - we need to make the most of these two meets. Once again we will be collecting soda donations and other food item donations for the snack bar - more details on this later in the season. The B meet schedule will be posted once Betsy Smith has her B meet meeting (or email!) We are excited to report that both David and Lexi are expected back! Once again we will need parents to act as officials (the uniform has changed! - it is now white shirts and BLUE shorts - this should help our recruiting process). The following clinics have been announced: Referee / Starter - Annandale Pool, Saturday June 5th at 8:00 am and Sunday June 20th at Mantua (9:30 am) (James Patteson you need to attend one of these clinics) Stroke and Turn - Saturday, June 12th at 8:00 am at Fairfax Club Estates; Sunday June 20th at 9:30 am - Lee Graham pool; or Wednesday evening June 23rd at 7:00 pm at Lee Graham Pool. (James you will need to attend one of these also - Roni you need a Stroke and Turn Clinic - John you need to attend a Starter clinic) **Roni and John - please verify clinics needed with Carole Rogers - she has the official paperwork - but I'm pretty certain these are the clinics you need. AND THE MOST IMPORTANT NEWS OF ALL - Carole Rogers and Cathy Basl will be taking on the WONDERFUL job of team reps for the Fairfax Frogs. They are excited about the season - but are looking for HELP from everyone - the first thing they need to do is set up their own Frog Email Accounts - so we are asking that each family send Carole Rogers an email to let her know you are planning on returning and to give her the email address that you would like to be contacted at - also, please forward this email to anyone you know might be interested in the swim team - or if someone's email address has changed (and you know the correct one!) Carole can be reached at cjhrogers1@aol.com. Thank you for your continued support of the Frogs - looking forward to a GREAT SEASON - GO FROGS!!!!!!
